The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work:
Weekend Workshop for Couples in Asheville, NC…
…based on the New York Times Bestselling book by Dr. John Gottman: The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. This workshop will offer proven, effective, practical, and research-based tools and techniques to enhance and improve your relationship.
Take Your Relationship To The Next Level
Would you like to have healthier communication in your relationship? Do you find that you are having the same arguments with your partner over and over again, and feel stuck? Maybe you have a good relationship, but want to make it even better. If so…
THIS WEEKEND WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU!
Don't Wait To Enrich Your Relationship
Research has shown that couples wait an average of 6 years from the time they begin having significant relationship problems to seek support.
GIVE YOUR RELATIONSHIP THE TIME AND ATTENTION IT DESERVES – before you drift apart.
You'll Be Learning How To...
-improve friendship, fondness, and admiration
-enhance romance and intimacy
-manage conflict constructively
-gain skills to address solvable and unsolvable problems
-create shared meaning
-maintain gains through out a lifetime
The Seven Principles Workshop includes lectures and private couple exercises. Couples will not share their personal problems in front of others.

What is your cancellation policy?
All sales are final and no refunds will be issued. However, you may transfer your ticket to the next Seven Principles workshop, or to any Seven Principles workshop offered by Asheville Couples Workshops within one year. You may also gift your ticket to another appropriate couple.
Do you offer any reduced rates?
There are a couple options for you and your partner if you are unable to afford the regular cost of the workshop…
If you are a member of Open Path Psychotherapy Collective and receive reduced therapy rates, you can purchase a ticket at 50% off. One spot in each workshop will be reserved for a giveaway through Cindy’s newsletter: The Happy Couples Playbook. Get on the list and you may win a free ticket for you and your partner!
Will we have to share our personal problems and issues in front of others?
No. The workshop does not include sharing problems or issues publicly. Exercises are done privately.
Must both partners attend or can I come alone?
Since the workshop involves couples doing exercises together, both partners must participate.
My partner isn't a reader. Can we still come to the workshop if they won't read the book?
Yes, still come to the workshop. While the book provides very valuable information, the workshop lectures will summarize the content of the book.
What couples are best suited to attend the workshop?
The Seven Principles Couples Program is appropriate for couples contemplating engagement, for premarital couples, for couples living together, and for couples who have been together or married for decades.
What couples are NOT suited for this workshop?
Psychoeducational workshops are not appropriate for all couples, including those with severe relationship distress, significant emotional or physical abuse, serious emotional or mental health problems, relationships where one or both partners are actively addicted to drugs or alcohol, and relationships with serious compulsive behavior with gambling, sexual acting out, and other disruptive behaviors.
Should you or your partner fall into any of these categories, please reach out so that we can provide appropriate referrals to individual or couples therapy.
